In order to keep pace with changes in the domain of transport in this subcontinent,BR is relentlessly trying to cope up with the demand from its customers.With strong commitment to the honourable customers,BR is trying to provide a safe,reliable and affordable rail transport service to the nation.This railway started its journey in this portion of the subcontinent long 142 years ago.As you know,BR has owned a truncated portion of the then British-Indian Railway network which was designed to feed Kolkata port,not in the conformity with the need of present Bangladesh.A workable solution has been found out by now.But expansion of railway network did not take place for sheer lack of patronage;rolling stocks being unthinkably over-aged.With all these odds and unfavorable situations,BR exceeded its target revenue earnings in the fiscal year 2007-2008.In 2007-2008,BR launched a few new trains with new coaches and introduced regional passenger train services between Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka later on.

BR's mission is to provide the nation with a safe and reliable rail network which would contribute to the great task of nation building.And,our vision is blended with imperative of train punctuality and the desire of reaching up to the taste of rail users.For achieving these objectives,railway personnel are working with all sincerity to get as close as possible to the target of perfection.
