During the year 2009-2010, a total of passenger trains were run on the Metre Gauge in the Eastern Zone with and average of 20.3 coaching vehicles, (Intercity 28.6, Mail Express 17.5 and local 10.1 and 0.06 freight wagons) and a total of passenger train were run on the Metre Gauge in the Western Zone an average of 16.3 coaching vehicles, (Intercity 19.8, Mail & Express 15.9 and local 12.2 and 0.82 freight wagons. The total kilometrage travelled by the coaching vehicles on the Metre Gauge in the Eastern Zone 157222897, (Intercity 88785074 Mail Express 50989039,011 and local 17448784 in the Western Zone 40963042 (Intercity 22879062 Mail & Express 6686848 and local 11397132). These figures do not include 13236 and 3264 coaching vehicle kilometres run on departmental account in the Eastern & Western Zone respectively. Year-wise position is indicated below:-
